[00:00.01]A man goes on trial in Austria today accused of locking his daughter in a basement for years. [00:16.76]Prosecutors argued that the baby, a twin, might have survived if had been taken to a doctor. [00:22.35]If he's on guilty of murder, Josef Fritzl could spend the rest of his life in jail. [00:27.62]The charges of enslavement and rape carry sentences of 20 and 15 years. [00:33.08]Josef Fritzl's lawyer Rudolf Mayer has told Austrian media that his client will plead guilty to most of the charges, but will contest the murder charge. [00:41.85]He's also described the slavery charge as questionable. [00:44.97]The trial is expected to last a week.
