| As Christianity took hold amongst Rome's underclasses, the pagan establishment sought to discredit it. The ritual of Holy Communion, the taking of Christ's body and blood, was described as cannibalism. Yet, meeting in secret, the Christian community began to grow. Historian Alexander Evers is taking me to one of Rome's remaining house churches from the second century.
