[00:04.81] |
Frohman: Act One, Scene One...a nursery! |
[00:10.24] |
Peter: It's the Darling House. And look, see? |
[00:14.18] |
Preparing the beds in Nana, the family dog, because the Darling couldn't afford a real nanny. But it didn't matter, because they were happy and didn't care |
[00:24.01] |
Sylvia: Oh, Peter. |
[00:24.92] |
"Michael": I won't go to bed! I won't! I won't! |
[00:27.51] |
Michael: That's what I say! |
[00:28.78] |
"Michael": Nana, it isn't six o'clock yet! |
[00:31.77] |
"Michael": All right, I'm going to bed. |
[00:36.39] |
Peter: And then, the most amazing boy flies in through the window! |
[00:42.42] |
Sylvia: Goodness, a boy who flies! |
[00:53.67] |
"Wendy": Why are you crying? |
[00:55.53] |
"Peter": I wasn't crying. But I can't get my shadow to stick on. |
[00:59.64] |
"Wendy": It has come off! How awfull! You've been trying to stick it on with soap! |
[01:05.18] |
"Peter": Well then? |
[01:06.04] |
"Wendy": It must be sewn on. |
[01:07.91] |
Barrie: And so Wendy sews on Peter's shadow... |
[01:10.86] |
Peter: ...and Peter is so happy he dances with it around the room! |
[01:22.62] |
"Peter": Wendy, one girl is worth more than twenty boys. |
[01:27.34] |
"Wendy": I shall give you a kiss, Peter, if you like. |
[01:30.33] |
"Peter": Thank you. |
[01:30.99] |
"Wendy": Don't you know what a kiss is? |
[01:32.97] |
"Peter": I shall know one when you give it to me. |
[01:35.26] |
Barrie: And so not to hurt his feelings, Wendy gives Peter a thimble for his finger. |
[01:40.73] |
"Peter": Now shall I give you a kiss? |
[01:43.38] |
"Wendy": If you please. |
[01:44.23] |
Peter: And in return, Peter gives Wendy an acorn. |
[01:48.18] |
"Wendy": Thank you, Peter. I shall wear it on a chain around my neck. |
[01:52.25] |
Michael: That's not a kiss, even I know that! |
[01:55.43] |
Jack: That's the point! It's clever! |
[01:58.13] |
Peter: And then, this is my favourite bit. Peter shows Wendy how to fly! |
[02:03.65] |
Barrie: We can sail away tonight |
[02:06.96] |
On a sea of pure moonlight |
[02:10.71] |
We can navigate the stars |
[02:14.10] |
To bring us back home |
[02:17.65] |
In a place so far away |
[02:21.67] |
Boy: We are young |
[02:23.27] |
That's how we'll stay |
[02:26.15] |
Sylvia: And with your hand in my hand |
[02:30.15] |
Barrie and Sylvia: We will find ourselves |
[02:32.49] |
In Never Neverland |
[02:36.29] |
Jack: Pirates! |
[02:37.35] |
Peter: That's Captain James Hook. He's the most dastardly rogue that ever lived. |
[02:43.33] |
Frohman: Oh, I love this guy! He's such a good-for-nothing scoundrel! |
[02:46.45] |
"Hook": Peter flung my arm to a crocodile! And he liked it so much, he's followed me ever since, from land to land and sea to sea, licking his lips for the rest of me. |
[03:01.12] |
Oh, it's the crocodile! |
[03:06.62] |
George: Indians! Like the characters we invented in the park! |
[03:13.22] |
Boys: While we were make-believing |
[03:16.91] |
Mister Barrie was writing all the while |
[03:20.14] |
Mrs. Du Maurier: Yes, a lot of this seems rather familiar |
[03:22.17] |
George: Yes look, there are pirates! |
[03:23.89] |
Jack: And Indians! |
[03:24.56] |
George: And fairies! |
[03:25.78] |
Jack: Even a crocodile! |
[03:27.73] |
Mrs. Du Maurier: I hope I'm not the crocodile! |
[03:29.45] |
Michael: I hear the mermaids |
[03:32.74] |
Such a beautiful sound |
[03:35.59] |
"Mermard": Ahhhh |
[03:37.16] |
Peter: Just a little faith and |
[03:40.51] |
Both your feet leave the ground |
[03:44.93] |
Mrs. Du Maurier: We can sail away tonight |
[03:48.99] |
On a sea of pure moonlight |
[03:52.71] |
We can navigate the stars |
[03:56.21] |
To bring us back home |
[04:00.16] |
In a place so far away |
[04:04.48] |
We'll be young |
[04:05.80] |
That's how we'll stay |
[04:08.49] |
Every wish is command |
[04:12.03] |
In this special place |
[04:14.63] |
Here in Neverland |
[04:19.54] |
Michael: Oh no, Tinker Bell! |
[04:22.70] |
Mrs. Du Maurier: What is she saying, Peter? |
[04:26.14] |
Peter: She drank his medicine because it was poisoned. |
[04:30.52] |
Sylvia: She drank it to save his life? |
[04:32.39] |
Michael: Is is Tink dying? |
[04:34.60] |
George: Look. Her light is growing faint. If it goes out, that means she's dead. |
[04:40.54] |
Peter: She says she thinks she could get well again, if children believe in fairies. |
[04:47.84] |
Barrie: And do you? Do you believe in fairies? |
[04:51.51] |
Peter: If you belive, clap your hands! |
[04:53.56] |
Mrs. Du Maurier: I believe! Come along, children! |
[04:57.91] |
Barrie: Everyone! Clap louder! |
[05:17.70] |
Barrie: That is Neverland |
[05:23.07] |
Picture a land |
[05:25.47] |
That you never have seen |
[05:28.41] |
Where life is enternal and evergreen |
[05:33.47] |
A future of happiness all in your hands |
[05:38.40] |
All in this place of your dreams |
[05:41.76] |
Here inside Neverland |
[05:45.37] |
Sylvia: Shooting stars |
[05:47.04] |
New shapes and sizes |
[05:48.46] |
Wakenings and new surprises |
[05:50.89] |
Opening my eyes to something happening |
[05:54.64] |
Barrie: Neverland |
[05:55.86] |
Sylvia: Universe of constant spinning |
[05:58.09] |
Every end and new beginning |
[06:00.22] |
I begin to feel that something's happening to me |
[06:05.87] |
Ensemble: Ah, ah, ah, ah |
[06:24.57] |
You just close your eyes |
[06:26.85] |
And count to ten |
[06:29.34] |
Breathe in twice |
[06:31.62] |
And open them |
[06:34.25] |
You know where to go |
[06:36.43] |
You have been there before |
[06:38.77] |
In your heart... |
[06:48.86] |
Peter: And by closing my eyes |
[06:52.10] |
I'll be finding Neverland |
